^ Proof of vaccination includes: CDC Vaccination Card (paper card or digital photo), official immunization record from within or outside of the United States, or printed certificate from MYIRMobile.com. Guests will not be asked to show photo ID with their proof of vaccination. Guests must be fully vaccinated for entry (at least two weeks following the second dose of a two-dose vaccine, or at least two weeks following a one-dose vaccine).

    * Acceptable tests include PCR and rapid tests administered by a testing provider within 72 hours before your visit (digital version or photo of negative test results is ok). At-home, self-administered tests will not be accepted.

Why are you requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to visit?

Starting October 25, King County will require verification of full vaccination status or a negative test to enter certain establishments to protect customers and workers, preserve hospital capacity and help prevent business closures. While not required to do so as part of King County’s mandate, we’re voluntarily setting these entry standards to create the safest environment possible and promote the goals of the county guidance.

What are the approved documents to prove vaccination status?

The following are the acceptable methods of verification:

    • CDC Vaccination Card (paper card or digital photo)

    • Official immunization record from within or outside of the United States.

    • Printed certificate from MYIRMobile.com.

Mobile applications such as the Clear Health Pass or VaxYes, as well as country-specific vaccination apps are not approved by the county; however, if the vaccination or testing information is easily viewable via these apps, then their use is acceptable for our purposes.

Immunization records should show the name of the Guest, type of COVID-19 vaccine received, and date that the last dose was administered.

Guests must be fully vaccinated for entry, which is defined as a minimum of two weeks following the second dose (Moderna, Pfizer, Sinopharm, Sinovac, or Novavax vaccines or two weeks following the first dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine).

Guests who have only received one dose of a two-dose vaccine are not yet beyond the two-week fully vaccinated period and as such, must provide a negative COVID-19 test result for entry.

Please note that Guests do not need to show identification with proof of vaccination as part of the Health Order’s Anti-Discrimination Requirement.

What vaccines are acceptable for entry?

The following vaccines are accepted for verification:

    • Pfizer (two-dose)

    • Moderna (two-dose)

    • Johnson & Johnson/Janssen (one-dose)

    • AstraZeneca (two-dose)

    • Sinopharm BBIBP (two-dose)

    • Sinovac (two-dose)

    • Novavax (two-dose)

To be considered fully vaccinated, Guests must have received the one-dose vaccine (J&J) at least two weeks prior to entry, or completed the second dose of the other two-dose vaccines at least two weeks prior to entry, and this must be evidenced on their vaccination card or immunization records.

Do I have to be fully vaccinated?

Yes. To be considered fully vaccinated, Guests must have completed the first dose (J&J) two weeks prior to entry or the second dose of the other vaccines two weeks prior to entry, and this must be evidenced on their vaccination card or immunization records.

Do I need to bring my actual vaccine card?

No. A picture of your CDC Vaccination Card is acceptable for entry.

Are there medical or religious exemptions for vaccine verification?

There are no medical or religious exemptions to the vaccine requirement. Any Guests that are not vaccinated for any reason will need to provide a recent negative COVID-19 test as detailed above.

Guests visiting non-ticketed areas of the Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass (i.e. lobbies and gift shops) are exempt from this requirement. Verification is only necessary for ticketed entry to the attractions.

Guests under the age of 12 are exempt and do not need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

What types of negative clinically-administered COVID-19 tests will be accepted?

For unvaccinated Guests ages 12 and older, including those claiming a medical or religious exemption, they must provide a recent, negative COVID-19 test to gain ticketed entry to the attraction. The following are examples of acceptable proof of a negative COVID-19 test:

    • A printed COVID-19 negative test taken within 72 hours prior to ticketed entry that includes the Guests’ name, the date of the test, and the lab location where the test was taken.

    • A digital version or photo of the negative test result will also be accepted.

    • Acceptable tests include PCR and rapid tests administered by a testing provider. At-home, self-administered tests will not be accepted.

All negative test results must clearly show the result, provider, and date of the test.

Are there test sites nearby that offer COVID-19 testing?

Carbon Health (220 Sixth Avenue North, open 9am to 7pm daily) can provide test results within three hours. Advanced reservations are required – no walk-ins are allowed. Test costs range between $135 and $165. These tests typically are not considered medically necessary due to the nature of the test’s use, and therefore, not covered by insurance. However, many FSAs/HSAs support reimbursement. Consult your healthcare benefits provider for more details on test cost reimbursement.

Click here for a detailed listing of COVID-19 testing locations in King County.

If I forget my proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results, can I reschedule my visit for another date or time?

Yes. Contact guestservice@chihulygardenandglass.com and our team will gladly exchange your tickets for a later date.

Can I get pre-screened before my visit (i.e. send proof of vaccination before I arrive)?

No. Guests can only get pre-screened on-site at the Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass. Pre-screening is not available before you arrive.

Do children need to show proof of vaccination or negative test?

All Guests ages 12 and over must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. Guests under age 12 are exempt from prescreening.

Do I need proof of vaccination to shop at the gift shop?

No. Guests visiting non-ticketed areas of the Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass (i.e. lobbies and gift shops) are exempt from pre-screening. Verification is only necessary for ticketed entry to the attractions.

Where do I show my proof of vaccination and how do I enter?

Show your proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test at the designated prescreening stations. Follow the green signs near the entrances to the closest available pre-screening location.

What if I want or need to take off my wristband?

To ensure that all Guests have been prescreened in all areas of the facility, we ask that you do not remove your wristband. If removed, our Team Members will escort you to a prescreening station to receive another wristband.

If I have previously tested positive for COVID-19, do I need to provide vaccine verification or a negative COVID-19 test?

Yes. There are no exceptions, and all Guests must be prescreened with either proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test.

Once I show proof of vaccination, do I still need to wear a mask?

Yes. A statewide updated mask order went into effect Aug. 23, 2021 requiring face masks for everyone over five years of age indoors regardless of vaccination status. All Guests and Team Members must wear a mask indoors. Masks are optional outdoors for vaccinated guests, and in designated food & beverage areas. For special accommodations, contact us at (206) 905-2100 or guestservice@spaceneedle.com before your visit.

Are your employees / Team Members also screened?

The majority of our Team Members are vaccinated, and all are regularly screened, including some Team Members that are tested daily. Team Members are instructed not to come to work if they feel sick and are required to follow our established wellness protocols.

Worth Going to Seattle Just for This”

Absolutely fantastic. Words can’t describe how amazing this is. You will need a few hours here. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Seattle. Totally unique.

    Well Worth Your Time”

Not typically being into art galleries, I didn’t expect to care much for this stop, but went along with others in our group. I was very pleasantly surprised. The glass artwork in this place is amazing, and is beautifully displayed. Photos don’t do it justice. There is also a garden area where some of the pieces are displayed, as well as a courtyard with snack vendor(s). You could easily spend a while here, but we went through in less than two hours.

    Watch the Short Videos”

Beautiful glass pieces! Check out the videos about Chihuly in the last room. There are several short videos about the glass blowing process and his journey working on some of his famous exhibitions. Also the professional photographers walking around will take your picture for free and you can e-mail yourself the photo for free as well. They make you take a short survey before they send it to you on the kiosk though.

Amazing and a Must See in Seattle!”

AMAZING! We loved visiting and the gardens were our favorite. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Seattle. We would suggest the Space Needle, Chihuly and MoPOP all in one day. The Chihuly can take as little as an hour to visit and we had no wait.

Amazing glass pieces in the museum, some using 300 plus colors. Very distinctive and tedious to make. From amazing glass chandeliers to canoe size pieces. The Chihuly gardens pieces are amazing, works of art. Excellent gift store associated where you can buy some pieces.Truly exceptional and a must visit, when you see the Space needle.

    Unbelievable and Spectacular”

I was told that this is a must see. I had my doubts but I found that they are right. What he does with glass has to be seen to be believed. It was very beautiful and I was constantly amazed. There was also a demonstration by a glass blower that was very informative. We spent an hour and a half in there and it felt like 15 minutes. I highly recommend you visit this place

A Must See for All Ages”

I take every guest that comes to town and I notice something new every time I visit. It is a remarkable talent to blow glass and create such majestic pieces. It’s breathtaking and worth a visit.

    BEAUTIFUL!”

We were in Seattle for a wedding and had half a day to tour around and see the sites. We took the monorail into City Center and bought the citypass on our phones - HIGHLY RECOMMEND (it lasts for multiple days and includes so many things). I don't know if I'd recommend paying full price for just the glass garden, but if you're doing a package deal it's a MUST-SEE. Truly beautiful garden and very well constructed gallery. If you can catch one of the tours/talks I recommend it. I didn't know that much about Chihuly's history before.
