Community Partner Spotlight
Through the work of Dale Chihuly, we continue to celebrate the vibrancy of the arts in our community and inspire visitors to engage with our region’s cultural community.
We have built strong partnerships with local visual and performing artists, and with organizations like Seattle Public Schools, Pratt Fine Arts Center, the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture, Pilchuck Glass School and more. Many of these partnerships continue today and we strive to find new ways to give back to arts in our city and beyond.
Ikebana Blossom Limited Edition Print by Dale Chihuly
The classical Japanese art form known as "ikebana" relies on the principles of movement, balance, and harmony. Ikebana Blossom, a two-dimensional interpretation of Chihuly's body of sculptural work in glass, reiterates these values. Set against a pewter background, coppor paintwork emphasizes the round base of Ikebana. Taut green stems topped with lemon yellow and grass green brush-stroked blossoms burst forth from within to create Chihuly's stylized translation.
