CONTEST RULES

We are looking for couples that will embrace this unique and unforgettable occasion. In addition to the contest rules, check out these frequently asked questions about the contest:

Is Chihuly Garden and Glass really giving away a wedding?

Yes - eight of them! We are looking for eight couples who want to have the most unique and unforgettable elopement ever, inside the stunning Glasshouse at Chihuly Garden and Glass and officiated by actor and comedian Joel McHale. All eight elopements will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

What's included for the winning couples?

After checking in at the Sheraton Grand Seattle (one night stay included), we will whisk the winners (and their two witnesses) to Chihuly Garden and Glass with transportation provided by Brotherton Cadillac | Brotherton Buick GMC | Brotherton Cadillac NW.

Joel McHale will officiate a 10-minute ceremony in the Glasshouse. A professional photographer will capture the event. The only people in attendance will be the couple getting married, and their two witnesses.

After the ceremony, we will celebrate the newlyweds by escorting them to the top of the Space Needle for a champagne toast and photos on the outdoor deck. We'll then return the wedding party back to the Sheraton Grand Seattle.

Back at the hotel, the couple will enjoy in-room dinner delivered by Ethan Stowell Restaurants, and a gift basket that includes two roundtrip travel vouchers courtesy of Alaska Airlines.

What's not included or not allowed?

This is an elopement, so we are only including the essentials (venue, officiant, photographer) and a couple of extras (hotel, transportation from the hotel, and a gift basket). We are not including food or beverage (other than the champagne toast at the Space Needle), music, videography, flowers, rings, or attire.

Customization of the experience is not possible (i.e. scripting the ceremony). The eight ceremonies will take place between 4:00PM and 8:00PM on Saturday, February 13. Winners will be assigned a time, so we recommend keeping the entire afternoon and evening open.

Other than the two witnesses, guests are not allowed. Outside vendors (i.e. outside photographers) are not allowed. Our goal is to make this super simple for you and your sweetheart: show up, and we'll take care of the rest!

Each member of the wedding party (the two people getting married and their two witnesses) must receive a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test as part of this experience. We've partnered with GoLab to provide testing for each party. Testing will happen after you check in at the Sheraton Grand Seattle, before departing for Chihuly Garden and Glass. If any member of your party receives a positive COVID-19 test, your party will not be able to travel to Chihuly Garden and Glass or participate.

Worth Going to Seattle Just for This”

Absolutely fantastic. Words can’t describe how amazing this is. You will need a few hours here. This was definitely the highlight of our trip to Seattle. Totally unique.

Well Worth Your Time”

Not typically being into art galleries, I didn’t expect to care much for this stop, but went along with others in our group. I was very pleasantly surprised. The glass artwork in this place is amazing, and is beautifully displayed. Photos don’t do it justice. There is also a garden area where some of the pieces are displayed, as well as a courtyard with snack vendor(s). You could easily spend a while here, but we went through in less than two hours.

Watch the Short Videos”

Beautiful glass pieces! Check out the videos about Chihuly in the last room. There are several short videos about the glass blowing process and his journey working on some of his famous exhibitions. Also the professional photographers walking around will take your picture for free and you can e-mail yourself the photo for free as well. They make you take a short survey before they send it to you on the kiosk though.

Amazing and a Must See in Seattle!”

AMAZING! We loved visiting and the gardens were our favorite. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Seattle. We would suggest the Space Needle, Chihuly and MoPOP all in one day. The Chihuly can take as little as an hour to visit and we had no wait.

The Glass Collection and Works is Better Than Murano”

Amazing glass pieces in the museum, some using 300 plus colors. Very distinctive and tedious to make. From amazing glass chandeliers to canoe size pieces. The Chihuly gardens pieces are amazing, works of art. Excellent gift store associated where you can buy some pieces.Truly exceptional and a must visit, when you see the Space needle.

Art and Magic!”

Chihuly is amazing with his creation. This garden visit was worth it. We bought the combo of space needle and the garden. Truly amazing experience. Enjoy.

Very Beautiful”

Truly a gem of a visit to Chihuly gardens and glass exhibits! Have lived in Seattle for 7 years and had never seen this. What a amazing collection. Worth revisiting just to see all the gorgeous stuff.

Unbelievable and Spectacular”

I was told that this is a must see. I had my doubts but I found that they are right. What he does with glass has to be seen to be believed. It was very beautiful and I was constantly amazed. There was also a demonstration by a glass blower that was very informative. We spent an hour and a half in there and it felt like 15 minutes. I highly recommend you visit this place

A Must See for All Ages”

I take every guest that comes to town and I notice something new every time I visit. It is a remarkable talent to blow glass and create such majestic pieces. It’s breathtaking and worth a visit.

BEAUTIFUL!”

We were in Seattle for a wedding and had half a day to tour around and see the sites. We took the monorail into City Center and bought the citypass on our phones - HIGHLY RECOMMEND (it lasts for multiple days and includes so many things). I don't know if I'd recommend paying full price for just the glass garden, but if you're doing a package deal it's a MUST-SEE. Truly beautiful garden and very well constructed gallery. If you can catch one of the tours/talks I recommend it. I didn't know that much about Chihuly's history before.
